A mother gives birth to a healthy baby. Down another corridor, paediatric orthopaedic surgeons conduct an extensive procedure to correct the deformity of the leg of a young girl born with one leg four inches shorter than the other. In another unit, a father of four is discharged just weeks after a bypass. He is counselled extensively on nutrition to help build his strength and speed his return to his home and eventually work.These scenarios represent a typical day at Shalamar Hospital. A tradition continues Shalamar Hospital opened its doors in 1982 with beds and attending physicians. Today, it is an impressive health care facility encompassing more than 17.66 acres. With 350 beds, it ranks among the largest private Trust hospitals in the Punjab and is widely recognized for the excellence in care it has traditionally provided to all who use its services. Its full complement of medical staff members represents a wide range of specialists, with many physicians being leaders in their specializations.
On 25th November 1984, Shalamar Hospital received recognition from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and on 30th December 1998, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan recognized Shalamar for the training of fellowship and diploma in different faculties. This recognition of excellent health care service has continued along with the continued maintenance of quality medical care delivery.

The Out Patient Department (OPD) provides consultation to about 1,000 walk in patients during Day and Evening Shifts. The number of patients coming for consultation and diagnosis makes it one of the busiest hospitals amongst the private sector health care institutes. Our Outreach Programme caters to the needs of people living in the outskirts of Lahore on alternate days. Both the Cardiac Care Unit and the Surgical Care Unit make extensive use of the most updated technology in critical patient care. Open Heart surgeries have recently been introduced. New Paeds Nursery and Ward, Gynae OPD, Pathology Laboratory and Clinical Services - latest and upgraded equipment including CT Scan are working to their full capacities, thanks to our many friends and donors.


Our Nursing Faculty is the best- thanks to the Nursing College working on the premises. Lastly, our projects with international organizations especially HOUSE OF CHARITY is a true depiction of our commitment to help burn victims or congenitally abnormal children.
